Government Stupidity Can Affect Your Investment Property
You may want to watch this if you live in Baltimore and own investment property. Every jurisdiction is different. Maryland tends to be very tenant (deadbeat) friendly. Here in Kansas we can get rid of people pretty quickly.
Click this link to see how government protects those that contribute little while punishing those trying to make a better life.

What To Read While I Recover

The flu has swept through our house leveling everything in it’s path. The fact that I was able to teach my class Saturday morning at UMKC is a testament to the miracle of Tamaflu, Day Quil and luck. When I got home I was exhausted and felt like death warmed over.
I woke up in time for the KU v KState game. The went right back to bed. To make matters worse I am in the middle of negotiating an offer. A special heart-felt tribute goes out here to both my clients and the agent for the seller as they’ve had my attention only here and there…when conscious.
I flipped on the the lap top this morning and ole reliable Christopher Smith has a nice article titled Real Estate Investing for the Long Haul. So I’ll stop here and just encourage you to follow the link as I only add “ditto” to what Chris said.

REI Blog Worth Keeping An Eye On
My Google Alerts flashed an article across my screen this morning from a blog I had not known of previously. So off I went to explore. While still in it’s infancy in both content and presentation I see a really good blog developing here of interest to the real estate investor.
St. Louis Real Estate Investment & Development Blog has landlord tips and general neighborhood news. As well as a little fun poking at his own city. It might be worth your time to jump over and see what you think.

Paul Wenske: Worth Reading In The Kansas City Star
Paul Wenske is a columnist with the Kansas City Star who writes an In Your Corner piece each week. He also can be found in the Business section from time to time. He is constantly addressing the real estate situation here and around the country, among other topics.
I’ve been reading Mr. Wenske’s pieces for over a year now. They are usually pretty well balanced and he uses good old fashioned common sense as his measuring stick. So consider this my endorsement of his efforts.
Click the link above and read some of his article that are still posted. And let me know what you think.
